Super Cute British Pub, bougie and clean. Unique menu selection and good quality cuisine. The food is very salty and rich tasting though and very meat heavy, so not a place for healthy eaters or those with dietary restrictions.

We came here for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't busy but our food took a really long time. I ordered the Fish and Chips and it was really good. My boyfriend ordered the buttermilk chicken with coleslaw. The coleslaw was very vinegary and saugy. I did not like the coleslaw. The buttermilk chicken was crispy, not oily, and delicious. My fish was crispy and the fish was thick and meaty. Their tartar sauce and ketchup were home made. They were delicious. The only con about this place was the price. My fish and chips was $20 and the buttermilk chicken was $24. Food took forever so it was tough during the lunch time on a work day.

Lovely down to earth spot in the otherwise pretentious Yorkville. Nice British pub atmosphere. Good looking menu, bot not vegan-friendly at all.

I eat here frequently and thoroughly enjoy the food, atmosphere and service. They also go out of their way to cater to Celiacs and have gone the extra mile to ensure that they have gluten free beer for those of us that are unable to have regular beer. I highly recommend The Oxley (it is cozy in the winter, and for the warmer months, they have one of the best patios in Yorkville). This place is a real gem!

Great place. An “upscale” British pub, in that the food is of excellent quality and unique choices of drinks. Gets really busy with the after-work crowd on Thursdays and Fridays. Haven’t had a down dinner there, but apparently they have the same menu in the upstairs pub area (which is where we normally end up). Their shareable meals are mostly all great.

Food was good, not great. Cocktails were creative and tasty. Very busy and loud inside - to the point where I had trouble hearing the person across the table. Definitely make a reservation.

Food was just “good”. Portions were smaller than other places but that wasn’t an issue. The burger (hand chopped steak) had an unusual texture and was very salty. Almost more of a sliced steak sandwich than a burger. Fries were average. My wife had the lamb curry which was good. Good selection of beer; limited wine. Prices are higher than elsewhere. As for the room... it is cramped and loud... almost too loud. Can’t carry on a conversation. Saw two tables get up and leave shortly after being seated. (We were going to buy had already ordered our beverages)The period hunt-club style wallpaper was interesting. The decor, nice. If you are looking for a quiet dinner with a nice conversation, this isn’t the place. Seems to cater to loud, LOOK-AT-ME, younger people.

This is a nice place to eat. The best thing is it doesn’t have loads of TV screens around to spoil the atmosphere. The burger wasn’t huge and there was no veggie option which was annoying. The sticky toffee pudding was really super. My wife had the fish pie which was really good. I’d recommend it. The staff were very nice too.

By far my favorite place to get a drink in Yorkville. Beautiful old cottage like building. I've been here many time's and have always had a great experience as well as service. The decor is classic British with a relaxed vibe, espically inside. Outside there are two tiers, with a much more modern and less British feel. The cocktails here are amazing, although they discontinued my personal favorite (The Lions Tail, as they stopped carrying the syrup for it). Please bring this back!

Had dinner here on a Thursday night during a long weekend, it's pearly an after work spot but also seemed to have a real community vibe in the middle of Yorkville. We went here for some high quality pub food and we were not disappointed. I got the "spicy" carrot soup which was not spicy whatsoever. However, it was creamy, tasty, and thick, so I like it. The fish and chips were very delicious. A classic done very well. Service was great. Staff was always attentive and helpful. I guess would come here again.

It's a good environment with an old British atmosphere. The drinks are good but the food is definitely NOT good. I'd go back for drinks and to chill but definitely not for food

Had dinner here on a Thursday night during a long weekend visit in Toronto. It's pearly an after work spot but also seemed to have a real community vibe in the middle of Yorkville. It's in a trendy brownstone right downtown with FIL lighting and industrial meets vintage interior. They have great variety of gin drinks and the fish and chips smelled heavenly and was clearly very popular since everyone around us got it! We got the lobster pie and the duck. My companion said his pie was amazing and left not a drop on the plate. The duck was cooked a bit more then imposed to personally but was a solid medium on a bed of beans. We went for desert, I got warm toffee cake which was a unique and delicious choice! Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the air for good vibes, good food, and the feel of a classy experience in Yorkville for a reasonable price.

A sister establishment to the original Queen and Beaver on Elm St, the Oxley shares the same menu and beer choices. It's a British atmosphere, featuring great pub food, draft and cast conditioned ales. Very comfortable seating, great food and drinks, and excellent service. Try the mushroom pithivier and thank me later!

My first experience with an English brunch. I enjoyed the omelet special with a side of peameal (a local form of bacon, similar to cottage bacon?). The coffee, finished with a pear mimosa made it an exceptional people watching meal.

My review for their Brunch menu only: Had brunch here and I'd say that the portions are pretty small, I paid $17 for a small (and salty) omelette and a few potatoes. There were no sides along with their version of eggs Benedict either. The scones they used also didn't add much flavour to the dish. The smoked salmon was good though. Anyways, we wouldn't come back for brunch but maybe for drinks another day. :)

First time at The Oxley and would definitely go back! The Haddock & Chips was delicious. Served with an interesting ketchup curry sauce on the side. The serve was a little slow but other then that, no complaints. Beautiful patio seating and indoor decor. Good music & lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this pub!

Would have given 5 stars for this restaurant if the serving staff hadn't been so snooty. We had mussels (delicious), quiche of the day (too eggy), hand cut burger (nice). Very expensive, so check out prices before you commit to a table. They have indoor and outdoor seating, we sat outside in the sunshine which was pleasant.

Try the back patio if you like privacy and especially if with a bigger group. The Service is great and servers have great attitude and good knowledge of the menu. The burger is absolutly tasty and prepared differently than the traditional ground beef. Great place to go on the weekend/holiday for brunch and/or afternoon cocktail.

The food, service and atmosphere at The Oxley are top notch. I've been a couple times for dinner and every was delicious. This weekend I had brunch for the first time and the pancakes with peanut butter ice cream were INSANE. If you're there for brunch you absolutely have to order them.

Went for brunch and portion sizes were tiny, so you have to get a side to go with the brunch. For $6, you get 3 leaves for a side salad. The menu is very misleading as most brunch items are usually a full meal in itself. Server was not friendly and she just looks like she doesn’t want to be there. For $21 brunch, there are way better places and friendlier servers.

Stopped in here for drinks before grabbing dinner at another restaurant. We did check out the food menu as well. The drinks were superb. And it will definitely be on our list to eat at next time we are in town. The atmosphere felt like a countryside pub; warm and inviting with an antique feel. Definitely was busy, which in my opinion means something.

The Oxley is in the fancy Yorkville neighborhood and the decor matches the area. It's a beautiful restaurant with an even more gorgeous back patio. The style and design just fits. The old clock in the back is a nod to the past yet the style of the patio keeps it modern and looking to the future. However, the dining experience wasn't the very best. The service was a bit slow and the food was not good. We ordered Scotch eggs and they came out cold and not tasty at all.The drinks were decent. They have a big list and even a cider, but they were all overpriced. If you want some good Instagram shots, go here, but otherwise there are better bars/restaurants in Toronto.

I love this place. Whenever in the area, this is my go to for a bite or drinks. They do a great job with the interior, menu, specials and drinks. Seating is cozy but they also have a bar section and a patio out back and front. The washrooms are in the basement so if you don't do stairs, might want to rethink that. I also think they have a special private dining room for events. Service is average and exactly what it should be but isn't memorable by any means. Hands down a solid place for a bit to eat or drinks.

Nice ambiance - a quieter place for food and drinks. Classic British pub food. Server was very helpful in addressing a food sensitivity. Burger was decadent; seafood pie was excellent as well.

Another favourite place, owned by the same people as the Queen and Beaver. Different menu and a slightly different feel but the ethos is the same, great food, good service and the feel of a community pub. They do it well.

Great food n beer. Friendly service and cosy environment. It's near to Bay subway station. The restaurant offers a big varieties of food from seafood to meat and got dinner special. I had the fish and chip. It was excellent and the kale salad is delicious. A bit salty tho. Outdoor table available. I would try their oyster next time. Nice interior design. Love this place.

Good location, decent food. We went on a bad day I guess because they were out of most menu items. Quite a busy day too which caused service to be slower. We sat down at 7 and they took our mains order at 7:30ish, at 8:20, the manager says to us that she hopes we know that we have a 2 hour seating limit, but problem was our mains weren’t even out. Just think it’s a bit inappropriate to tell client they have around 30 min to eat your mains and no time for dessert basically when the food isn’t even delivered to us yet...

Beautiful vintage pub in the heart of Yorkville. They have a great list of craft beer and awesome bar tenders that really know their craft. Just tell them what you like and they make it for you. It the hustle and bustle of Yorkville this is really a relaxing spot that is down to earth in a sophisticated fashion. Oh and their food is great too, can't go wrong for a stop here after work, a start to your night out, or making it a night here. Was here last on a rainy day and it was the jus the cozy atmosphere that I needed.

It was okay. I had the hamburger. The meat was hand chopped, presumably to make it seem rustic, but it just gave it a slightly different texture. The fries were also okay. A noticeable lack of vegetables. I would have expected better in Yorkville.

This place is rather cozy and the cocktails are enjoyable. There's a cozy corner with a bench loveseat upstairs. Their oysters were not shucked well (lots of shell bits inside) and the bar interior could use a bit of TLC (a bit worn and drab). I'd return for a low-key drink but I'd hesitate on food.

Excellent service, outstanding food. We sat on the back patio. We had ordered steaks, one medium and one medium rare. They didn't mark them and mixed them up when serving. We were halfway through before my daughter realized her steak was pinker than mine. Note to staff - clean your bathroom and make sure there's toilet paper. That's not going to stop me from returning - I loved it!

I love this spot. It's a great pub and the food is ways stellar. Great lunch and after work spot. Fish and chips are amazing. The pies... Get any of them. Salads are done really well too; even the side salads. Solid beer and spirits selection

If it’s too busy, head upstairs in the seat-yourself area or at the bar. The speakeasy feel is just perfect for a chilly evening, a great spot to enjoy a couple craft cocktails from the creative list of choices. The fish and chips is also excellent.
